WILLIAM WELLBORN's PIANO PORTRAITS is a recital program of music by Scarlatti, Mozart, Chopin, Debussy, Granados, and Liszt. This is Dr. Wellborn's first release for Cambria Master Recordings. It is available at Amazon.com or iTunes.

Between 1921 and 1925, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco composed 31 songs set to texts from Shakespeare plays. They are virtually unknown, yet each one is a little gem, as the present recital bears out. Castelnuovo-Tedesco: Shakespeare Songs features soprano Anne Victoria Banks & pianist WILLIAM WELLBORN.

Critical Acclaim

"...the recital closed with Wellborn's fiery performance of Liszt's "Mephisto Waltz," a performance that had the audience longing for still more." Contra Costa Times

"Pianist William Wellborn displayed plenty of temperament...bone-mangling octaves..." Santa Barbara News Press

"...astonishing delicacy and brilliance...a grandly conceived, mature, often compelling performance of Liszt's B minor Sonata. Here, clearly is a pianist who thinks about the dramatic and rhetorical meanings of the notes he plays." San Antonio Express News
